The residence built at the hook shaped site. Two floating gardens are seemed to connect to the nearby park. The inside is a large room with a light tube in the center, and it becomes a private place as it advances to the back.
中央がくびれた「く」の字形の敷地の目の前には、公園の緑地が広がっている。そこで、敷地形状に沿うように建物のアウトラインを決定し、緑地と連続するように、浮かぶ芝生の庭を二つ計画した。片方の庭はリビングに向かって傾斜させ、もう片方の庭は道路側に傾斜させることで、周囲の樹々と共に緑豊かな風景をつくり出している。
内部空間は、筒状のコアを中心に置いた木造の大きなワンルームであるが、自然光、道路との距離、レベル差を調節することによって、奥に進むにつれて徐々に私的な場所になるよう計画した。
植物が群生する洞穴を都市化したようなこの建物では、光射し込む横穴や縦穴を通して、都市や自然環境との瑞々しい関係を楽しむ事ができる。
This house hugs the contours of a V-shaped lot located directly across from a park. Two elevated lawns-one sloping up from the living room and the other sloping down towards the road—visually link the house to the park and blend with the surrounding trees to provide lush, green views.
The interior consists of a single large, wooden room with a tube-shaped core positioned in the center. Modulations in the natural light that filters in through horizontal and vertical cavities, as well as changes in the distance from the road and the floor height, create a series of spaces that become increasingly private as they recede from the entrance. Like a plant-filled cave that has been transformed into part of the city, the house allows residents and visitors to experience a fresh relationship to the urban as well as the natural environment.
